Lindau Insel at Dusk
At 70 hectares, Lindau Island is the second largest island in Lake Constance, the so-called Swabian Sea. Its old town exudes Mediterranean charm with its winding streets and has been home to the Bavarian Lion and Germany’s southernmost lighthouse since the 19th century. The name “Lindau” means “island on which linden trees grow” and was first mentioned in a document in 882.
